He is a co-investigator of the NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence in Pulmonary Fibrosis and co-investigator on five NHMRC project grants. A\/Prof Westall is the principal investigator of an open-access national human lung tissue bank that facilitates research into chronic lung disease.<\/p><p>As an academic clinician, he has established a number of translational international projects with industry partners that have taken discoveries in basic science to the clinical interface.
